Introduction

I don't have much experience in photography apart from having an interest in the subject since my early teens and ever since have carried a camera everywhere I go, be it to take photographs of a friend skateboarding in the town centre or to capture an image of a scene, shape or subject I find interesting or has some sort of personal meaning to me. Having a keen interest in the subject I decided to invest in a DSLR camera (the Canon EOS 450D). I discovered the OCA in the 'Digital Photo' magazine and after deciding not to go to university after college, learning from home with the OCA seemed a perfect opportunity to me.

From this course I am hoping to gain knowledge, expand my skills and increase my interest in photography. I am always looking for new and interesting ways to shoot photographs and often struggle to find suitable scenes and subjects to capture. I'd like this course to show me that there's a lot more to be photographed that a simple glance could miss. Ultimately I would like the 40 points from this course to go towards the 360 needed to achieve a BA Hons in Creative Arts.

I shall be using this blog as my Learning Log for my first OCA course; The Art of Photography.
